The phenomenon which entreats my faith in the Christian God are the Christian who heckles and murders, who preaches upon his children with wild devotions and doctrines of judgement.
The moment we are upon, of intending evil toward the homosexual and the moment we were upon, of intending the slaughtering of the inquisition; is the moment of my certainty that Jesus Christ was certainly God.
Only a God, furiously greater than ourselves could possibly have mercy on these vigilantes of the faith. It would demand a composure utterly supernatural to be capable of forgiving humans such as these. Not only to be capable, but to be certainly desirous, and not only desirous, but even enacting of the charity of forgiveness upon these evil misusers of God.
They abuse the most loved creation, and the creator counts the abuser as the most loved. They crucify, stone and violate the human and the God whom they claim; yet this God carries out his charity upon them. They claim to know God, hate His loves, and yet God claims these men of violence as His own. He claims them by suffering their hates and loving these perpetrators.
Who might ever actively, positively* love his enemies, except a person supernatural?
Who can meet this standard? Who has lived in such perfection, that their perfection might transform the imperfection of not only their friends or the righteous men, but the imperfection of their enemies? Who has called their enemies, "sons," or their murderer "friend"?
